What You Will Do:
Guidehouse is seeking a Data Scientist to join our Defense and Security Segment, where the individual will collect, transform, integrate, and analyze data to identify trends, assess performance, develop visualizations in support of organizational and mission goals, and support decision-making for information technology programs within the Department of State (DOS). Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Accessing data sources, establishing data connections, and pre-processing data for analysis
- Defining data requirements and ensuring storage, availability, and coherence of electronically stored information meets the organization's needs
- Designing data modeling processes, creating algorithms and predictive models, and performing ad hoc/exploratory data analysis to support data-driven decision making, including use of advanced analytics techniques such as predictive modeling and machine learning
- Leading data driven analytic activities involving the identification of key indicators for compliance and effective performance critical to mission/business success
- Manipulating large data sets, data mining, and structuring of raw data using open sources tools such as Python to formulate or recognize patterns to generate new information and unlock information and insights that help the organization better manage risks
- Designing and developing data visualizations and dashboard solutions to provide required analytics insights and BI
- Utilizing analytics tools for data visualization and business intelligence (BI), such as Tableau and Power BI
- Delivery of client services, while also supporting business development, internal firm initiatives, and ongoing professional development
- Operating successfully on remote projects
What You Will Need:
- Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET federal security clearance
- Bachelor’s Degree
- TWO (2) years of relevant experience
What Would Be Nice To Have:
- An ACTIVE and CURRENT SECRET federal security clearance
- Master’s Degree
- Experience with Tableau, Python, R and SQL
- Proficiency in PowerBI
- Proficiency in Excel
- Competencies in IT Risk and/or Cyber domains
- Strong communication skills, organizational skills, and problem-solving skills
The annual salary range for this position is $72,700.00-$130,900.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
