WWC Federal is hiring a Data Scientist to support the Data Stewardship Program of the Special Operations Command (SOCOM) under the guidance of the SOCOM Command Data and Artificial Intelligence Office. The Data Scientist will possess the combined skills of a data analyst and data engineer. They will be accountable for creating and managing a data pipeline. Moreover, they must comprehend complex processes and technologies, with proficiency in methodologies like data mining, natural language programming, and machine learning. They must master a mixture of programming, mathematical modeling, statistics, and domain knowledge.
Responsibilities include:
- Interpreting and analyzing data using mathematic and statistical techniques based on the scientific method.
- Coordinating research and analytical activities using various data points including programming to organize data.
- Experimenting with data points to provide new solutions to data-related problems.
- Collaborating with Data Engineers to construct data environments.
- Applying and developing scientific methodology and algorithms to understand and tackle relevant problems.
- Developing predictive modeling, natural language processing, Robotic Process Automation, text mining and processing, and other techniques.
- Designing and automating processes to manage and analyze data.
- Using frameworks like Spark and Hadoop for large-scale data processing.
- Conducting research, designing, and implementing algorithms to solve complex problems.
- Performing data engineering and modeling techniques using data management platforms.
- Conveying complex concepts to a non-technical audience.
Work Environment:

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field.
- Ability to obtain Interim Secret within 30 days of hire.
- Minimum 1-year experience in data science methodologies.
- Proficient with programming languages (Java, C++, Python, R, etc.).
- Fluent in all Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication skills and client focus.
- Professional proficiency in English required.
- U.S. citizenship.
