Join Scania as a Data Scientist in Quality Information

Scania is transforming from a traditional supplier of trucks, buses, and engines to a provider of comprehensive and sustainable transport solutions.

About Us

The Quality Information team is a part of the Field Quality organization at Scania. We provide essential statistical tools and analysis to accurately describe field quality, which supports the initiation of new quality initiatives. Currently, we are transitioning to a cloud-based data management strategy.

Our journey includes moving data from physical servers to the cloud, aligning with Scania's "cloud first" strategy. We gather data from various sources, such as vehicle production, warranty information, fault codes, workshop orders, and operational data, compiling this into PowerBI reports and SAS Viya/Product Analytics tools.

The team comprises three analysts and three data engineers in Södertälje and two analysts in Sao Paolo. As the current data scientist progresses to a new role, we are looking for a temporary replacement until the end of 2024.

Your Responsibilities

You'll be responsible for analyzing advanced data models and generating reports on operational data of customer vehicles, including fault codes, repair history, and software updates. Explore the potential of machine learning in this sector while collaborating with a skilled team dedicated to facilitating data-driven customer decisions.

Your Profile

We're seeking someone with a degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field, who possesses excellent analytical skills and enjoys assisting others. The role involves substantial SQL coding and report building using PowerBI or SAS Viya/Product Analytics. Experience with these platforms is beneficial. Effective communication with both the business side and Scania IT is crucial.

You should be driven, well-structured, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment where agile and conventional development methods coexist. Excellent problem-solving skills and an interest in the automotive industry are essential.

Needed Skills

  • Experience in programming
  • Statistical Analysis
  • DAX-programming
  • SQL Server & SSAS
  • Report Building in Power BI
  • Python or R programming
