Your Role
As a Data Scientist, you will:
- Design and implement solutions surrounding data warehouse implementation, encompassing architecture, ETL processes, multidimensional modeling, and both international and local data marts implementation.
- Contribute in interdisciplinary teams that combine technical, business and data science competencies, delivering work in agile methodologies (either at client locations, remotely, or a mix of both).
- The extent of your accountability, responsibility, and autonomy will be determined by your experience and level of expertise - we are open to both seasoned professionals and those with less experience.
Specifically, your responsibilities will include:
- An understanding of data modeling, be it dimensional, relational or vault modeling approaches, and the ability to design conceptual, logical, and physical data models
- The capacity to utilize your skills to resolve real-life business cases, especially in the banking and insurance sectors
- Analyze and interpret diverse data from various internal and external sources to find significant insights
- Effectively identify, discuss, and communicate requirements
- Oversee advanced data analysis and modeling efforts
- Develop, implement, and optimize machine learning algorithms
- Cooperate with cross-functional teams to solve intricate business problems
- Transform data insights into actionable strategies
What we are looking for:
- Proficiency in data management, with strong SQL skills in at least one of the leading databases – such as Oracle, MSSQL, Teradata, DB2 – as well as familiarity with procedural extensions like embedded procedures, functions, packages, triggers,
- Understanding of DWH matters, including: denormalization, uni- and bi-temporal historization, SCD1, SCD2, the development and implementation of data marts, fact/dimension/transaction tables, views, indexes, data normalization and standardization, data processing, and business metadata management,
- Experience with ETL tools such as SAS Data Integration Studio, IBM Datastage, Informatica, Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services,
- Proficiency in English (additional language skills, like German, are highly commendable),
- A team-oriented mindset (experience in working with international teams is a bonus),
- The drive to progress in the field of data analytics and to deepen practical knowledge of tools like R, Python, SAS.
- Prior experience in developing data warehouse applications, with participation in some or all phases of the data warehouse/data mart development lifecycle, and ability to demonstrate experience with creating architecture, design, development, implementation, administration or migration,
- Excellent educational background in IT or in a figures-related domain (such as Engineering, Mathematics etc.),
- Knowledge of RDBMS, Oracle or SQL Server, MS SQL Server (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS), Batch Processes, Models,
- Desire to contribute in a team-oriented setting,
- The capability to act creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
