Job Description

lastminute.com is seeking a Data Specialist for its Tech for Finance team located in Chiasso.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting with the automation of Finance teams' processes (such as passive reconciliation, monthly closing, billing and credit note checks, etc.) by playing the role of a Developer and aiding in communication between the IT and Finance departments.
• Helping to define tasks for team activities (including data quality, data integration, data acquisition, data analysis, reporting) and developing them according to the needs and priorities of various stakeholders
• Identifying areas for improvement or inefficiencies within our systems and collaborating on the development and reengineering of new IT processes/functions 

Qualifications

Skills and Experience

Essential

• University degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics
• 2-3 years of experience in application and software development
• Knowledge of data mining techniques and tools such as ETL
• Experienced in using reporting tools like Spotfire, QlikView
• Strong proficiency with MySQL, RDBMS and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to effectively explain technical and analytical content in an understandable way
• Fluency in English

Desirable

• 2+ years of experience with the ETL tool, Talend Open Studio
