Data Visualization Designer (UI/UX Designer) - Join Biogen

Are you passionate about transforming data into meaningful visual experiences? Biogen's US Commercial Organization is seeking a talented Data Visualization Designer (UI/UX Designer) to play a critical role in our Data Visualization & Reporting capability, a pivotal part of our US Data Strategy.

Key Responsibilities

As a Data Visualization Designer, you will:

  • Design and develop intuitive, user-friendly reports and dashboards using PowerBI.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and gather requirements.
  • Translate complex data into easy-to-understand visuals and reports.
  • Continuously improve existing reports.
  • Conduct user research through interviews, surveys, and usability testing to understand customer behavior and needs.
  • Organize report content to ensure easy accessibility for various user segments.
  • Plan and conduct usability testing sessions for design validation and user feedback.
  • Communicate design concepts effectively to stakeholders.
  • Work with data analysts to troubleshoot and validate data-related issues affecting reports and dashboards.
  • Iterate designs based on user feedback, stakeholder input, and usability testing results.
  • Collaborate with development teams for seamless UI integration.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Proven experience as a Report Designer/Data Visualization Designer with a strong portfolio.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, or QlikView.
  • Experience working directly with Power BI (Cloud experience is a strong advantage).
  • Practical knowledge of SQL queries (data analysis, aggregation functions, window functions) - a plus.
  • Experience with pharmaceutical commercial data - an advantage.
  • A strong eye for detail, color, layout, and typography.
  • Solid understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies, including user research, information architecture, and usability testing.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong analytical skills for interpreting data and user feedback to inform design decisions.
  • Effective conceptual and problem-solving skills.
