About Your Role

As a Java Engineer, you will take on critical projects that refine and expand the core infrastructure pivotal to Elasticsearch. This role involves designing next-gen horizontally-scalable features and APIs, improving internal data structures, and ensuring the efficient operation of Elasticsearch in Elastic Cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize the core infrastructure underpinning Elasticsearch.
• Collaborate on cross-team projects and contribute to long-term technical strategies influenced by changes in core dependencies like JDK.
• Solve challenging performance or concurrency issues by proposing innovative solutions.
• Support the engineering team by contributing to open-source projects and assisting support engineers with complex problems.

What We Expect

Required Skills: You should have a solid foundation in crafting APIs, with proficiency in algorithms and data structures. A proactive approach to tackling new challenges and an ability to seek assistance when needed are crucial.

Bonus Skills: Experience with Seccomp, JDK internals, or container technologies like Kubernetes will be advantageous.
