The Boeing Company is actively seeking a talented Senior Electrical Design and Analysis Engineer to join our team in Fairfax, VA. This role is pivotal in supporting the Boeing Defense Services (BDS) business unit.

In our mission to develop a sophisticated, high-throughput SIGINT/Communications system, the Electrical/FPGA Engineer will provide advanced VHDL processing solutions across all stages of hardware system development, including concept, design, modeling, analysis, implementation, and verification.

Position Responsibilities

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Design, develop, and integrate signal processing systems focusing on Radio Frequency (RF) and Digital Signal Processing (DSP).
  • Interpret requirements, design algorithms, model systems, simulate physical and channel impairments, and analyze algorithm performance.
  • Implement algorithms and document processes and results.
  • Produce algorithm subsystem analyses for technical interchanges with customers and support formal reviews.
  • Contribute to the development and testing of the final solution.

This position requires working 100% onsite and necessitates an active TS/SCI U.S. Security Clearance.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry.
  • Experience with RF system design modeling and software coding in LabView, Test Stand, C/C#, Python, FPGA Verilog/VHDL, and/or Matlab Signal.
  • 3+ years of experience with RF measurements and analysis including amplifier performance, intermodulation distortion, phase noise, spurious measurement, and group delay.
  • 3+ years in real-time software, gateware, firmware development for digital communications or signal processing algorithms.
  • 3+ years of FPGA implementation using VHDL.
  • 3+ years of experience in RF, DSP, and/or optical communications.
  • 3+ years of experience using Matlab/Simulink.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

  • Master's Degree in Engineering.
  • Experience in Beamforming, Adaptive Filtering, Antenna Modelling, Conformal Antennas, Iterative Solvers, Machine Learning, Communications Signals, Modulation, Signal Intelligence, and Software Defined Radios.
  • Proficiency with Mathworks SIMULINK for system modeling.
  • Experience in VHDL C/C++ development in an embedded software environment.
  • Familiarity with code repositories like GIT and Agile (SCRUM) development methodology.

Typical Education/Experience

Generally acquired through advanced technical education in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry, combined with substantial related work experience. ABET accreditation is preferred but not mandatory.

Relocation

This position offers relocation based on eligibility. Basic relocation will be provided for qualifying internal candidates.

Compensation

Pay is based on experience, qualifications, market, and business considerations. Salary range for this position is $126,650 - $171,350.
