Job Description

To support its growth, Sia Partners is now hiring end-of-study interns, data scientists specializing in operations research.

They will be tasked with handling - in synergy with our various practices - the work and assignments requiring the implementation of complex models to support our clients with their challenges.

  • Operations research: assistance in designing and implementing linear optimization solutions under constraints and advanced simulation models;
  • Machine learning and statistics: development of explanatory and predictive decision-support models (supervised and unsupervised learning algorithms, econometrics, forecasting, quantitative diagnostics, ...);
  • Big Data: algorithmic knowledge for processing large and unstructured data volumes.

As part of the firm's internal activities, your participation will focus on the following areas:

  • Development or strengthening our offerings through training, work groups, R&D projects, dissemination of internal and external support...
  • Publication policy (industry blogs, studies, media appearances...)
  • Business development by contributing to the definition of needs and participating in commercial actions.

Qualifications

Soon to be graduated from a training at an Engineering School or from a high-level training in the field of operations research, data processing, statistical engineering, and econometrics, you ideally have initial experience in Optimization, Big Data or Data Science.

You have an excellent level in applied mathematics, statistics, and quantitative analysis (theoretical and practical knowledge, intuition, ability to understand and apply models).

You are proficient in R programming (or equivalent: SAS, Matlab…) and/or have strong basic knowledge in programming languages (Python, Julia, Perl, JS, bash) or compiled languages (C++, Java) and/or have experience in UNIX/LINUX environments.

You have already worked with optimization solvers and are proficient in their configuration (CPLEX, Gurobi or equivalent), you are comfortable with problem-solving concepts through dynamic programming, classical optimization heuristics, and the development of metaheuristics.

You aspire to commit and quickly take on responsibilities in internal R&D missions and projects of high added value within a dynamic structure.

You are endowed with a team-working ability, open-mindedness, analytical skills, and wish to join a motivating professional environment where you will share our values of excellence, entrepreneurship, innovation, a sharing culture, benevolence, and a work-life balance.

Fluency in both French and English is a must.
