Job Overview

As a Software Engineer on our team, you’ll collaborate with other technology and data users to build robust services and data pipelines. You’ll also facilitate the adoption of Deutsche Bank’s ESG strategic data platform, impacting numerous groups within the bank while promoting positive environmental and social goals.

Your Responsibilities

• Design and implement cloud architectures and roadmaps using industry best practices
• Build and maintain cloud-native backend services, data pipelines, and data storage solutions using technologies like Spring Boot, Spark Streaming, Kafka, MongoDB, Cloud SQL, GCS, and Big Query
• Implement data security and access controls using GCP's IAM and Cloud Security Command Center
• Monitor production cloud services using standard tools like Prometheus, New Relic, Splunk, and Stack Driver
• Collaborate with data experts to meet data needs and deliver effective solutions

Required Skills

• Experience in technical architecture, software design, and implementing distributed enterprise applications with Microservices (preferably using Spring Boot framework)
• Proficiency in Java, Scala, or Kotlin
• Familiarity with storage technologies (Oracle, Postgres, MongoDB, Google Cloud Storage/Big Query), container runtime environments (Docker, Kubernetes), and public cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
• Hands-on experience with Big Data technologies like Hadoop, Kafka, Apache Spark, Hive, and Impala
• Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) and Behavioral Driven Development (BDD)
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies, CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, GitHub Actions), and IaC (Terraform)

Employment Expectations

The salary range for this position in Cary is $85,000 to $120,750, with actual compensation based on skills, experience, education, and other qualifications. This range does not include incentive compensation or other remuneration.
