Job Description

As an Engineering Manager for the Fraud Prevention team, your mission is to lead a team of data scientists and machine learning engineers to develop fraud detection and mitigation models. These models will be deployed in a real-time decision-making platform to protect merchants, their customers, and Teya from fraudulent activities. Leveraging advanced predictive models and scalable software systems, you'll build and grow intelligent solutions to mitigate risks, enabling Teya to serve our merchants more effectively.

Your Role

In this role, you will:

• Manage the careers and growth of a diverse team of individual contributors, including machine learning engineers and data scientists.
• Collaborate with peers across Teya to deliver world-class services for European small business owners, incorporating robust fraud prevention mechanisms.
• Define and refine metrics to measure fraud rates, risk sizes, and team performance.
• Oversee the definition, evolution, and delivery of development projects to meet business and technology objectives.
• Lead the design of efficient, scalable, high-throughput, and highly reliable cloud-based software systems.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should have:

• 3+ years of experience managing teams of software developers.
• 1+ years of experience managing data scientists, economists, or similar roles.
• Professional experience in leading the design or architecture of multiple new and existing systems, focusing on design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
• A proven ability to document and communicate technical decisions to a diverse audience.
• Strong problem-solving skills using data structures and algorithms, along with the ability to analyze the time and space complexity of solutions.
• Fluency in English.
