Meta, formerly known as Facebook, is at the forefront of technological innovation, transforming connectivity through advanced platforms like Messenger, Instagram, and WhatsApp. We are currently looking to hire an Engineering Manager for our PyTorch - AI Acceleration team, aiming to enhance the performance of AI technologies across emerging hardware systems, including NVIDIA, AMD, and Meta's proprietary AI chips.

Role Overview:

As an Engineering Manager within AI Acceleration, your responsibility will be to lead and expand a team of domain experts focused on optimizing GPU inference and training processes. This role is integral to our efforts to scale, simplify, and enhance the reliability and efficiency of GPU functionalities. You will collaborate across functions, communicating and building relationships that facilitate impactful cross-functional projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Grow and guide a team of domain specialists in AI Acceleration.
  • Enable effective communication and collaboration with clients and peer teams to advance cross-functional projects.
  • Formulate and implement strategic visions and directions for the team.
  • Maintain engagement with ongoing software development initiatives, assisting in technical challenges and design decision processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience managing a diverse team of HPC/GPU engineers.
  • Proven track record in recruiting, building, and leading technical teams, inclusive of performance management.
  • Robust experience in cross-functional collaboration with ML or AI framework teams.
  • Familiarity with GPU/CPU optimization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, ONNX, MXNet, etc.
  • Experience in programming models suited for high-performance computations, including GPU CUDA programming, OpenCL, or OpenMP programming.
  • Deep understanding of ML Systems including GPUs, kernels, compilers, model-specific transformations, quantization, communication optimizations, etc.

Compensation:

The salary for this role ranges from $177,000 to $251,000 annually, depending on expertise, skills, and location. This compensation also includes potential bonuses, equity, and comprehensive benefits, ensuring a competitive package for the right candidate.
