Requirements

We are looking to recruit an Enterprise Data Architect for Civica’s Central Government Consultancy Services Team.

Role Purpose:

The Enterprise Data Architect is tasked with creating and maintaining data designs that meet enterprise needs. They utilize these designs to guide data integration, manage data assets, and align project data architecture delivery with business strategy. They are also responsible for:

  • Producing and sustaining enterprise domain and subject area data models that align with business strategy
  • Monitoring the use and alignment of project data architecture against enterprise models
  • Advising project teams and overseeing the management of the full data product lifecycle
  • Ensuring that the organization's systems align with the enterprise data models

Principal responsibilities and tasks:

  • Developing and maintaining enterprise data models to extend and enhance the Data Architecture Framework
  • Conducting assurance checks on the design and alignment of data artifact products
  • Creating and sustaining data glossaries and dictionaries
  • Ensuring the enterprise models align with business strategy
  • Supporting core team members and project data architects, maintaining high quality and measure against standards
  • Cooperating with Enterprise and Solution Architecture to ensure that projects and programs generate designs and artifacts in line with the Data Architecture Framework
  • Promoting the use of Data Standards within the organization, including data modeling, and providing relevant templates and guidance
  • Collaborating with Data and Information Management teams to maintain alignment

Essential competencies:

  • Data modeling – understanding of diverse modeling notations (UML, Dimensional, NoSQL, Data Vault, ORM, Barker Notation)
  • Experience with Data governance forums and methods
  • Knowledge of industry-standard data guidelines
  • Understanding of Metadata and repositories
  • Ability to translate business problems into data design
  • In-depth knowledge of Sparx EA
  • Effective communications skills for explaining the value of enterprise models
  • Understanding of reference data, transactional data, and master data - able to distinguish and process metadata, reference data, transaction data, and master data from the system landscape

Preferred skills:

  • Communicating data between technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Translating business problems into data design
  • Knowledge of TOGAF
  • Understanding of BPMM
  • CDMP accreditation
