Overview

  • Blue Yonder is seeking an Enterprise Data Architect to join our Enterprise Architecture function within Information Technology. Reporting to the VP of IT Strategy & Planning, the ideal candidate will design, implement, and manage our IT organization's data architecture strategy.

  • The role includes designing and managing the overall data architecture of the IT organization, including data models, data flows, and data systems. The incumbent will collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to understand their data requirements and formulate a data management roadmap aligned with organizational goals.

  • The position also entails ensuring that the data architecture aligns with the organization's overall business strategy and IT infrastructure.

  • Besides having technical skills and knowledge, the ideal candidate should possess excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

  • They should function effectively with business stakeholders and technical teams, converting technical requirements into business outcomes. The candidate needs the capability to lead and mentor a team of data architects and data engineers, encouraging them to deliver high-quality work.

  • They should also possess robust project management skills, with the capacity to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Finally, they should be continuous learners, with a mindset to constantly improve their skills and stay updated with the newest trends and technologies in data architecture.

What you'll do:

  • Develop and maintain the overall data architecture strategy for the organization.

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their data requirements.

  • Identify and prioritize opportunities to improve data quality, availability, and usability.

  • Develop and manage data governance policies and procedures.

  • Ensure data architecture aligns with the organization's overall business strategy and IT infrastructure.

  • Develop and maintain the data models and data flows for the organization.

  • Establish and maintain data standards, including data definitions, naming conventions, and data classification.

  • collaborate with other IT teams to ensure data is seamlessly integrated across different systems and platforms.

  • Develop and manage the metadata repository for the organization.

  • Develop and maintain data security and privacy policies and procedures.

  • Contribute to managing the data architecture budget and resources.

  • Monitor and evaluate data architecture performance, making adjustments as necessary.

  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans for the organization's data.

  • Mentor and lead the team of data architects and data engineers if necessary.

  • Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in data architecture and apply them to the organization's data strategy.

What we are looking for:

  • At least 8-12 years of experience in a related field, such as data architecture, data engineering, or database administration. Data governance, accessibility,

  • Understanding data architecture principles and practices.

  • Expertise in designing and implementing complex data solutions across multiple systems and platforms.

  • Knowledge of data modeling techniques, including relational, dimensional, and NoSQL data modeling.

  • Experience with data integration, data warehousing, and data management technologies and tools.

  • Experience with data governance, including data quality, data security, and data privacy.

  • Knowledge of data analytics and visualization technologies and techniques.

  • Experience with ETL/ELT processes and tools.

  • Experience with cloud-based data solutions and technologies.

  • Knowledge of big data technologies, including Hadoop, Spark, and NoSQL databases.

  • Experience with metadata management tools and techniques.

  • Experience with data architecture frameworks, such as TOGAF or Zachman Framework.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with business stakeholders and technical teams.

  • Leadership skills, with the ability to lead and mentor a team of data architects and data engineers.

  • Project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Continuous learning mindset and ability to stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in data architecture.

The salary range for this position will be $125,600 - $191,600

The salary range information provided is based on current national data. Exact amounts may vary by location. Individual salary will be based on skills, experience, certifications or licenses, and other factors. In addition, this position will be eligible to participate in either the annual performance bonus or commission program, depending on the nature of the position.
