Job Description

The Enterprise Data Architect leads a team of architects within ASOS Tech, primarily focused on the architecture facilitating existing data and data science related capabilities, while evolving the organization to cater to substantial future growth to meet ASOS business goals. Joining this team at this time is thrilling, as there are chances to help scale ASOS data capabilities to unprecedented heights.

What you'll do:

- As the Enterprise Data Architect, you will facilitate the company's use of data as a strategic propellant of our corporate goals and objectives, working closely with business and technology stakeholders.

- You will design and advocate a comprehensive data strategy and drive the adoption of standards to develop a responsive analytics ecosystem for refined data, effortless access, and collaboration, accelerating data agility and business transformation.

- You will be the creator and keeper of our high-level data models that indicate where data is mastered within the organization and how it flows between various systems.

- You will also provide direction to architects in the data services and data science architecture domains. This will not only demand thought leadership and guidance to implement standards and best practices, but it will also involve line management.

- You will support the creation and evolution of a discoverable marketplace of reusable data building blocks, composed of governed and refined KPIs, metrics, measures, and foundational data enabling interactive dashboards, advanced analytics, data science, feature discovery, and rapid development of ML-powered applications and data products.

Qualifications

About you

• You will have a robust technical background in large scale data warehousing, AI/ML, data lakes, distributed data processing, and advanced analytics concepts. This will be complemented with proficiency in modern data architecture patterns and practices including logical and physical data modeling, semantic modeling, metadata, streams, and data enrichment.
• You will have used cloud data technologies at scale in Microsoft Azure throughout your career, ideally employing technologies such as Azure Data Lake, Purview, and Databricks, including Unity Catalog.
• You will have demonstrated experience in developing and implementing effective technical strategies, conceptual, logical, and physical architecture artifacts for business and technical audiences. 
• You have significantly contributed to the maturation of data management capabilities in large-scale organizations. Hence, you certainly understand associated concepts and practices such as data governance, data modeling, data quality, metadata management, master data management, and security among others.
• You will have a profound understanding of data science concepts with experience in patterns that facilitate the consistent and secure delivery of effective online and offline models across a microservice architecture.
• You have facilitated the evolution of an organization towards a data product mindset, evangelizing the benefits of such an approach, while ensuring the underlying architecture enables delivery at pace.
