About the Role

Join Our Water Resources Team:

As an Environmental Data Scientist at Ramboll, you will develop databases, data pipelines, reports, dashboards, and conduct data analysis. You will collaborate with a team that values critical thinking and group collaboration, thriving in both independent and team environments. Key responsibilities include:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Optimize and tune SQL queries, stored procedures, and data transformation workflows for improved performance.
  • Create interactive reports and dashboards using Power BI to visualize data.
  • Design and implement ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
  • Monitor data quality and consistency to ensure data integrity.
  • Collaborate with various teams to deliver data-driven solutions.
  • Present findings directly to clients and project teams.

Required Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Proven experience with ETL processes and tools, and expertise in SQL.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python or R.
  • Strong experience in creating reports and dashboards with Power BI.
  • Familiarity with building and optimizing data pipelines and architectures.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, data science, statistics, information technology, engineering, or a related field with 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently on complex tasks.
  • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to present and interact effectively.
  • Remote work capabilities with less than 5% travel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with machine learning models and techniques.
  • Proficient understanding of statistical analysis and predictive analytics.
  • Previous experience or advanced degrees in Environmental Engineering or Consulting.
  • Understanding of geostatistics and environmental field data collection.
  • Experience with GPS field data processing and mobile operating systems.
