About the Role

Swiss Re, a global leader in reinsurance and insurance, is seeking a dynamic Expert Data Architect to help drive the company towards its goal of becoming a data-driven commercial insurer. This crucial role involves working collaboratively with internal and external customers to design and implement data solutions that fulfill complex requirements while balancing necessary trade-offs.

The position combines strong solution architecture skills with extensive experience in data modeling and canonical modeling, focusing on enhancing our data landscape to democratize data assets. Ideal candidates should be comfortable in an agile, collaborative environment, and capable of providing expert guidance on data architecture.

Responsibilities

Your tasks will include, but are not limited to:

• Developing high-level architecture and designs for databases and data integrations using conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
• Conducting end-to-end data analysis from business analysis and data modeling to data quality assurance in a fast-paced Agile environment.
• Performing complex SQL-based data analysis.
• Maintaining logical and physical data models within case tools like SAP Sybase Power Designer, accommodating both SDLC and Agile development methodologies.
• Collaborating with customers to understand and fulfill their data needs and integrating innovative data solutions into daily processes.
• Ensuring full data transparency allowing customers to understand data availability and utilization.
• Working alongside a team of data architects, data analysts, engineers, and scientists to deliver impactful data outcomes.

Your Experience

Key qualifications include:

• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a Data Architect.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and data modeling tools like Sybase Power Designer.
• Experience designing complex data flows and data warehousing (both dimensional and 3NF).
• Understanding of SDLC and Agile/SCRUM development processes.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Additional expertise in information and data governance, as well as industry experience in insurance, reinsurance, or finance, is considered an advantage.
