Job Title: GCP Data Architect

Job Summary

At Avant Digital, we are on the lookout for a skilled and passionate GCP Data Architect to enhance our team. In this role, you will spearhead the design and implementation of scalable and efficient data solutions using Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Your responsibilities will include working closely with clients, developers, and architecture teams to convert complex requirements into robust data architectures. This role demands an individual who is adept at creating both high-level and detailed architecture and design documentation, while ensuring best practices in data security and enterprise data architecture are followed.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement end-to-end data solutions on Google Cloud Platform, focusing on data warehousing and big data technologies.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate these into impactful data solutions.
• Create and maintain comprehensive data architecture and design documentation.
• Implement robust data security frameworks and uphold enterprise data architecture best practices.
• Develop and enforce data management and governance strategies, aligning with industry standards.
• Utilize advanced data modeling tools like Erwin to develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
• Architect solutions for both batch and real-time data processing using various GCP services.
• Effectively manage metadata and documentation with Erwin’s capabilities.
• Stay abreast of the latest developments in GCP services, data architecture, and data management methods.
• Drive innovation in data analytics by leveraging new technologies and methodologies.

Requirements

• Minimum 6 years of experience in Data Architecture, ideally within data warehousing and big data environments.
• At least 2 years of experience in a senior or enterprise-level Data Architect role, with a focus on Cloud data platforms.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and comprehensive understanding of data relationships.
• Demonstrated knowledge in data management, governance, and security frameworks.
• Experienced in creating detailed data architecture and design documentation.
• Skilled in Data Warehouse Data Modeling using Erwin, able to manage Data Flows, ER diagrams, and all data modeling aspects.
• Experience with GCP, including BigQuery, and familiarity with Teradata and other data platforms.
• Knowledge of Data Fabric, Data Mesh architectures, Starburst, and IBM Cloud Pak is preferred.
• Exceptional communication skills, capable of effectively conveying complex ideas and concepts.
