Position Overview

We are looking for an independent, perceptive, adaptable, and strategic Design Director. The ideal candidate should have exceptional verbal and written communication skills and be highly self-motivated.

Responsibilities

As the Design Director at Hypergiant, you will lead a team of designers on Department of Defense (DoD) projects. Our design team includes a diverse group of artists and designers who collaborate on internal projects while also offering design services to clients.

Required Experience

• 10+ years experience in interactive design for desktop and mobile applications, preferably in an agency setting.
• Expertise in managing, mentoring, and growing design teams.
• Ability to lead client interactions and guide projects towards their overall vision.
• Creative problem-solving skills with a strong eye for detail.
• Expert-level understanding of information architecture, interaction design, user experience, visual design, and content strategy.
• Proficiency in Keynote and crafting client work narratives.
• Sensitivity to typography, color, and practical knowledge of physics and animation.
• Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Suite.
• Excellent collaborative and brainstorming skills.
• Ability to deliver high-quality work on tight schedules.
• Experience with various platforms and operating systems is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with DoD information systems.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $148,900 to $188,700 USD. Individual compensation within this range is determined by factors such as job-related skills, experience, and pertinent education or training. This range pertains exclusively to base salary and does not include bonuses, equity, or benefits. Additional allowances may be given for roles requiring an active US Security Clearance.
