Role Description

You will be part of an elite team of data scientists, closely integrated with our product organization to build and scale new business ventures.
This is a ground-floor opportunity, where we need you to foster a data-informed culture with a heavy focus on AI/ML impact and execution.
Responsibilities
- Lead data-driven strategies that balance urgency with the high-quality standards expected by our customers and the broader Dropbox organization.
- Collaborate closely with leadership across all functions, especially AI/ML teams, Product, Engineering, Design, and Research.
- Take a key role in all major decisions related to AI-first strategies.
- Build reliable, efficient, and scalable data foundations and set daily execution standards, tools, and processes for long-term growth.
- Foster a culture of strong technical ownership to ensure highly reliable products and services.
- Utilize data-driven insights to identify impactful opportunities and guide the design of future experiments and product roadmaps.
- Perform analytical deep dives to explore AI-related user problems and opportunities, identify hypotheses, and design and execute experiments with rigorous data techniques.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or higher in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience using data-driven analysis to influence key business decisions, preferably in a tech company.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience working with AI/ML product teams, collaborating directly with data scientists, engineers, product managers, and designers.
- Proven ability to work independently and engage proactively with business stakeholders, driving measurable business impact.
- Strong ability to influence the prioritization and execution of high-impact projects affecting customer experience, monetization, and the organization's roadmap.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, and other coding languages commonly used in AI/ML production environments, with a deep understanding of statistical analysis and experiment design.
- Experience in coaching and mentoring junior data scientists to enhance team productivity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in startups.
- Background in SaaS search, ranking, AI research, and related fields.
