Informatics Data Scientist at GSK - Ware, Hertfordshire

Location: Ware, Hertfordshire (GSK Manufacturing Site)

As an Informatics Data Scientist at the GSK Ware manufacturing site, you will be instrumental in delivering innovative data solutions and improvements. Reporting to the Informatics & Data Science Manager, your role will involve creating dashboards to monitor product performance, developing models to reduce manufacturing waste, and automating reporting processes. Join us to enhance efficiency and optimize production in our Respiratory and Oral Solid Dose medicines portfolios.

Key Responsibilities

  • Automate data collection, reporting, and visualization to make data more accessible and useful.
  • Maximize business benefits and improve product and process performance using scientific, operational, and process performance data.
  • Support product data transfers and implement improvements for New Product Introduction (NPI).
  • Collaborate with Digital Data Analytics (DDA) experts and customers to support data-driven decision-making, change management, and root-cause analysis.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in data aspects of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), including troubleshooting and data interpretation.
  • Work with R&D, Supply, Quality, Manufacturing Sciences & Technology, and Tech teams to ensure data and reporting infrastructure meets investigation, regulatory, and CAPA requirements.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Pharmaceuticals, Biological or Computer Sciences, Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field with high numeracy content.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams, solving problems, and managing complex process improvements in data analytics, programming, or statistics.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of SAS (SAS EG) or Python programming for data manipulation, analysis, and report generation.
  • Experience with visualization tools such as Power BI (Microsoft Power Platform).
  • Knowledge of or interest in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) techniques.
  • Background in pharmaceuticals or similar industry with an understanding of data integrity/GxP.

About the Ware Manufacturing Site

At Ware, medicines are presented as either Respiratory devices or in Oral Solid Dose form. The site holds a unique position in our network as the only site responsible for launching the company’s pipeline of new medicines in these dose forms.
