Job Description
Primary Function of the Position:
This intern position involves working with a group of talented and dedicated individuals focused on the development and integration of fiber optic shape sensing in medical robotics. The primary focus of this role will be to support data analysis and create data pathways that enhance manufacturing processes and drive design improvements for current and future generation robotic surgery platforms.
This role requires a passion for problem-solving using data. It would take perseverance and creativity to unify new and existing data parsing utilities to build a comprehensive view of the fiber optic shape sensing components from manufacturing to deployment.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Investigate issues to root cause, further understand and explain trends/shifts in data
- Proactively analyze data to identify trends and patterns and generate insights for the engineering team
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Field Service, and various engineering teams for cross-domain analytics.
- Develop tools to assist in collating identified trends in databases.
Qualifications
University Hiring Program Eligibility Requirements:
- University Enrollment: Candidates must currently be enrolled in, and returning to, an accredited degree-seeking academic program in the Fall.
- Internship Work Period: Candidates must be available to work full-time (approximately 40 hours per week) during a 10-12 week period starting in January
Skills, Experience, Education, & Training:
- Currently enrolled in a Business, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, or another quantitative degree program at the Undergraduate level
- Has completed at least one year of schooling.
- Has experience with a high-level programming language (for example, C++, Python)
- Demonstrated ability to think analytically and make sound judgments.
