JR43370 Intern - Data Scientist

Department: Smart Manufacturing and Artificial Intelligence

Project Title: Smart manufacturing and AI-enabled quality management systems

Description:
The project aims to enable and improve smart manufacturing enabled quality management systems, including but not limited to, fault detection integrated systems, machine mismatch management, deviation management systems, and statistical process integrated engineering systems. These applications strive to provide process and equipment team with state-of-the-art data science concept to actively mitigate risks in the manufacturing process.

The successful applications will also have the opportunity to be offered for full time employment upon graduation.

Scope: In this project, the student will

  • Be involved in stakeholder interaction and problem context understanding.
  • Learn and apply integration of data science concepts and solution architecture design with engineering understanding of Assembly and Test operations to catch anomalous points and/or machines.
  • Learn and deliver end-to-end solutions in this project including methodology, solution architecture, and UI.
  • Learn the various services of Google Cloud Platform and contribute to implementing the architecture.

Deliverable: Contribute to the end-to-end deployment of Quality Management Systems applications in Assembly and Test and improve current solutions to have better performance

Impact of Project: the project is essential in supporting production floor, detecting issues inline which would otherwise be missed in the basic process control systems, managing deviations that come from every process control system, and assisting process and equipment engineers in making judgements on the deviations

Skillset Required:  Python, statistical knowledge, machine learning, deep learning, web development (Angular)

Course of interests: Computer Science, Data Science, Computer Engineering

Duration Period: min 5 months
