About the Role

As a Lead Software Engineer, you will be an integral part of an agile team dedicated to enhancing, building, and delivering market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Your core responsibilities will involve developing critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas to support our firm’s business objectives.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and troubleshoot creative software solutions, thinking beyond routine or conventional approaches.
  • Produce and review high-quality, secure production code, ensuring it meets the best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to automate the remediation of recurring issues to enhance operational stability.
  • Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs and technical applicability.
  • Promote the use of new and leading-edge technologies within software engineering communities of practice.
  • Foster a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
  • Conduct hands-on coding for branch applications and implement test automation practices.
  • Conduct performance testing on branch banking applications.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 5+ years of applied experience.
  • Practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages.
  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods.
  • Comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Expertise in agile methodologies, including CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and Security.
  • Proficiency in software applications and technical processes within areas such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and mobile technologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry's IT systems.
  • Practical cloud-native experience.
  • Proficiency in Full Stack development using JavaScript (React, Vue.JS, Angular), Java, SpringBoot, SQL, Non-SQL, and Python.
  • Experience with test automation practices, including Functional, Unit, Component, Contract, and Performance testing.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Experience with logical and physical data modeling.
  • Experience in building failure-safe and resilient applications.
  • Understanding of user discovery and design.
  • Hands-on experience with various application interface communications such as micro-services, batch processing, and event-streaming.
  • Experience working within an Agile team utilizing the Scrum framework.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
