Job Description

Wynn Resorts is looking to design a data system that analyzes and initiates actions to attract guests better and scale their well-known personalized services and experiences. This strategy aims to foster increased loyalty and frequency from customers, while also promoting more services through enhanced personalization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Data Engineer will create and manage solutions that convert data into knowledge

  • Participate in the development of architecture and solution design
  • Own the data model & guarantee whole adherence to business requirements, data retention policies & infosec regulations
  • Implement data quality processes, such as data profiling, data cleansing, etc.
  • Distribute guidance to other data engineers in the team
  • Lead requirements sessions and data analysis
  • Translate business requirements for information into technical specifications for data ingestion solutions
  • Engage with business stakeholders and source system SMEs to comprehend current data processes and formulate data processing logic.
  • Define, design & apply different data ingestion patterns based on business needs & requirements
  • Direct the data modeling workstream; create data models that suit business requirements using Erwin
  • Partake in data governance initiatives
  • Ensure data integrity & quality is sustained throughout the solution; produce data quality solutions as part of the data flow
  • Document data flows and other design specifications
  • Assess the best data ingestion, integration & replication tools for cloud-based data analytics use cases
  • Execute real-time data transfers to make sure data is available to the business at the right time & the right place
  • Preserve & support the data ingestion tools & solutions
     

Qualifications

The ideal candidate would possess the following skills, experiences, and qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or similar disciplines 
  • A minimum of twelve (12) years of experience in data warehousing, data architecture, and data modeling
  • Proven experience in designing cloud-based data architectures
  • Ability to design end-to-end solutions for data ingestion and data management
  • Proven experience as a data engineer in a cloud-based data analytics project; at least 3 similar project experience
  • Strong knowledge of Snowflake, Databricks, Airflow & Azure Data Platform
  • Practical experience in cloud-based data ingestion tools 
  • Understanding & the capability to evaluate new age & best fit tools that may be new in the market 
  • Expertise in cloud-based data ingestion (Microsoft Azure)
  • Strong knowledge & experience in cloud-based data warehousing & analytics
  • A strong understanding of data models; practical experience in developing large-scale complex data models suitable for cloud data warehouses using Erwin
  • Familiarity with business intelligence and analytics
  • Experience with programming languages like SQL, Python, Spark etc.
  • Observable abilities to take initiative and innovate
  • An analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude
  • Experience in the casino resorts industry
