Guardian has established a Lead Data Scientist, Data Science Lab role to reinvent insurance considering emerging technologies, societal changes, and shifting consumer demands. The Lead Data Scientist will hasten Guardian's shift to data-driven decision-making and insight creation, promoting long-term innovation. The DSL will enable rapid testing of new technologies and the application of groundbreaking research into practical, company-wide solutions.
As a Lead Data Scientist for the DSL, you'll be charged with the important task of helping establish and guide the DSL. Your duties will include developing advanced data science solutions, leveraging machine learning and artificial intelligence, to drive innovation across various business sectors and Guardian products. You'll work closely with senior executives on high-impact, high-visibility projects to deliver AI/ML solutions that will be market-tested and implemented to significantly influence risk management and Guardian's overall financial performance. In your role, you will lead the Data Science Lab, build and manage a high-performing team of data scientists, stay updated with ML and AI innovations, industry trends, challenges, and potential market opportunities. You will also collaborate with partner institutions to develop and test new AI/ML methods and techniques, apply ML and AI innovations to practical and influential opportunities at Guardian, and contribute to the overall Data Science organization.
You are passionate about pioneering technology and interested in applying new AI/ML algorithms and approaches. You are analytically driven, intellectually curious, and experienced in leading the development and implementation of data and analytic solutions to solve challenging business problems. You enjoy leading and managing a team of data scientists to solve difficult problems with AI/ML and seeing it implemented in-market and generating value for Guardian. You enjoy working with a multi-disciplinary team, including data engineers, business analysts, software developers, and business experts and leaders. You have a proven record of managing data science teams and working with business leaders.
This remote position with occasional travel offers an annual salary ranging from $143,150.00 - $235,175.00. The salary will ultimately be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
