About the Team:

You’ll be joining our dynamic Discovery Data Team at Canva, a core part of the broader Discovery group. We are at the forefront of AI, Machine Learning, Infrastructure, and User Experience that powers Canva’s discovery experience. Our mission is to build a highly personalized Canva, develop and productionize user modeling that directly drives product features and messaging, facilitating the discovery of over 100M+ templates, photos, videos, and design elements.

Role Focus:

As the driving force behind our data-centric approach in Discovery, your primary objective will be to harness data to provide actionable insights for Discovery leaders and collaborators. This will enable them to make informed decisions that drive the group’s direction. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, coach a team of data specialists, and continually seek out areas where your team can have the most considerable impact.

Your Responsibilities:

• Generate creative and insightful analyses.
• Design and conduct experiments that impact our key metrics significantly.
• Build and maintain visually appealing dashboards for your group’s initiatives.
• Utilize our extensive databases to tackle seemingly simple questions that are challenging and engaging.
• Enhance data literacy and curiosity across Canva.

Qualifications

Ideal Candidate:

If you have a proven track record of leading data specialists, crafting team strategy and data roadmaps, and you possess a robust competency in SQL and data analysis with Python or R, you could be a perfect fit. Experience with data warehouses like Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery is a plus, as is experience with subscription-based or collaborative products.
