Job Description

As the Lead of Data Scientist Products and Insights within CIB Operations at Standard Bank Group, you will play a pivotal role in transforming user experiences by prioritizing and implementing impactful, data-driven solutions. This role is crucial for driving the future relevance and optimization of our services aligned with our strategic goals.

You will provide thought leadership and offer high-quality advisory, analytical, project management, and specialized capabilities across the value chain. This role is designed to prepare for anticipated changes and transform the organization to meet strategic objectives effectively. Additionally, you will contribute to the Data Science Products & Insights portfolio for the global CIB Operations business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Transform data into actionable insights, focusing on Process Mining data as a primary resource as we develop our Intelligent Process Model.
• Forge influential partnerships with key stakeholders to align goals and remove obstacles efficiently.
• Create commercially viable data products that are accessible and beneficial.
• Lead and inspire a team of data professionals to leverage data products and insights for transformative impact across CIB Operations.
• Decide, Execute, and Realise Value through critical focus areas in the Intelligent Transformation value chain, leveraging objective data insights for decision-making, tracking the execution of solutions, and proactively monitoring the realisation of benefits.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will hold a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field, complemented by experience in Data Analytics and/or Data Science. You should demonstrate proficiency in analyzing results using statistical techniques, developing strategies aligned with strategic objectives, and managing internal and external challenges to drive successful change initiatives.

Behavioral and Technical Competencies:

Candidates should exhibit strong competencies in exploring possibilities, developing strategies, empowering individuals, and resolving conflicts. Technical competencies required include expertise in data storytelling and visualization, a commercial mindset, and skills in strategy planning, project management, and business process modeling.
