Wolters Kluwer Tax & Accounting is actively seeking a skilled Lead Data Engineer to enhance our dynamic team. This pivotal role is fully remote and offers the opportunity to significantly impact our Azure cloud data platform.

Role Overview & Responsibilities

As a Lead Data Engineer, you will be instrumental in:

  • Building and supporting robust data pipelines.
  • Designing a unified solution to optimize data transfer to our data lake and data warehouse.
  • Ensuring high standards of data quality and integrity.
  • Driving improvements in business processes through effective review and analysis.
  • Developing cutting-edge solutions using Scala, PySpark, and Azure Databricks.
  • Fostering data governance and operational excellence.
  • Participating and leading a team of talented data engineers.

Minimum Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5+ years experience in building data pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Azure data pipeline development.
  • Professional knowledge and application of Azure Databricks, Stream Analytics, Event Hub, Kafka, and similar technologies.
  • Expertise in SQL Server, T-SQL, and database optimization.
  • Strong familiarity with Azure data platform and Power BI solutions.
  • Excellent collaborative and communication skills for working effectively within team settings.

Preferred Qualifications

Applicants with the following will have an edge:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related fields.
  • Certifications like Azure Data Engineer or Azure Solution Architect.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Prior exposure to the tax and accounting domain is highly beneficial.
