As a Lead Software Engineer/Solution Architect at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Data Services – Data Platform Engineering team, you'll be a vital part of an agile team dedicated to enhancing, building, and delivering secure, stable, and scalable market-leading technology products. Your role as a core technical contributor involves crafting critical technology solutions across various technical realms to support the firm’s business objectives.
Job Responsibilities
- Design and implement innovative software solutions, demonstrating the ability to think creatively to build solutions or tackle technical challenges.
- Develop secure, high-quality production code, while reviewing and debugging code written by others.
- Identify opportunities for automating remediation of recurring issues to enhance the operational stability of software applications and systems.
- Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to scrutinize architectural designs, technical credentials, and their integration into existing systems.
- Drive the adoption and awareness of new, cutting-edge technologies by leading communities of practice within Software Engineering.
- Contribute to a team culture that values diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of development experience with big data processing platforms, cloud-native solutions, and data processing pipelines.
- Proven experience with containers, Kubernetes, Docker, Amazon EKS, Amazon ECS, and Serverless technologies.
- Expertise in developing real-time streaming applications using Databricks, Apache Spark Streaming, Apache Kafka, and/or Amazon Kinesis.
- Experience in re-engineering and migrating on-premises data solutions to cloud environments.
- Proficiency in building applications on emerging cloud serverless managed services to minimize/eliminate the physical/virtual server footprint.
- Hands-on experience in implementing security solutions for data storage and processing in the cloud.
- Advanced proficiency in Python and automation methods along with continuous delivery processes.
- Comprehensive knowledge in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- In-depth understanding of agile methodologies like CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.

- Extensive knowledge of the financial services industry and associated IT systems.
