About the Role:

We are thrilled to announce a career opportunity for an analytical and motivated Machine Learning Engineer at CitiPower and Powercor in a full-time, permanent capacity. In our Digital Innovation R&D team, you will leverage advanced machine learning models and AI-based applications to embark on innovative projects, enhancing our operations and services across diverse initiatives.

As a pivotal team member, you will take on responsibilities ranging from developing and managing datasets to deploying and refining machine learning models. Your contributions will be vital in harnessing computer vision and generative AI techniques to solve complex business challenges. This role requires a blend of autonomy and collaboration, clear and systematic problem-solving skills, and a passionate drive to innovate and deliver robust technological solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

What you’ll deliver:

• Designing and implementing advanced ML/AI models to meet specific business needs, and analyzing their performance to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Managing and optimizing machine learning training and test data processes.
• Developing automated tools and processes for efficient ML model deployment on cloud platforms, with a focus on optimizing costs and performance.
• Collaborating seamlessly within the R&D team to ensure the successful delivery of project components, maintaining high standards of design and documentation throughout.
• Clarifying and communicating technical challenges and solutions to ensure the successful delivery of initiatives.

Who You Are:

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

• A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or Statistics, or significant equivalent experience.
• Proven experience as a Machine Learning Engineer with a strong portfolio of successful projects.
• Expertise in software engineering with substantial knowledge in Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar frameworks.
• Experience in image processing, computer vision, and deploying solutions on cloud platforms like AWS.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills capable of driving business-centric solutions.
