Galway Office

Rent the Runway established its European Technology Hub in Galway in April 2019. Located in the historic Claddagh area of the city, the growing team in Galway addresses core technology challenges and shapes the next generation of services crucial to Rent The Runway’s success and ongoing growth.

The Galway office marks Rent the Runway's initial international office outside the US and permits the company to significantly widen its Software Engineering, Product Development, Machine Learning Engineering, and Data Science footprint. Rent The Runway’s Galway-based employees have the opportunity to grow their careers across various roles and career paths in Technology.

About the Role:

Machine Learning Engineers at Rent the Runway create data products that distinctly influence our customer experience and internal operations. You will oversee projects end-to-end, from identifying which problems to address through transforming information from our vast data ecosystem into actionable insights, to ultimately creating & integrating algorithms into our network of services in collaboration with our product & software engineering teams.

You will have the chance to impact all parts of our business: determining what inventory assortment to buy, optimizing the lifespan of that inventory, establishing the right network of warehouses & transportation methods to best serve our customers, personalizing the user experience, optimizing user acquisition & retention, investigating how we can improve customer service by providing the right information at the right time, optimally pricing clothing rentals and sales, forecasting demand and more.

What You’ll Do:

  • Collaborate on a team of equals in a setting that will consistently challenge you and enable you to learn new things every day.
  • Develop and launch efficient algorithms powering customer-facing applications that are at the heart of our business and success.
  • Cooperate closely in an equal partnership with our business, product, and engineering teams.
  • Have a significant influence both in what you work on and how the work is executed.

About You:

  • 3+ years work experience developing data products, preferably with Python, and integrating them into internal and customer-facing applications in production environments. Bonus points if you’ve: built & maintained services using AWS, GCP; deployed & maintained production deep learning models using frameworks like Tensorflow, , Keras in a business environment.
  • Capability and desire to manage your project throughout its entire lifecycle, from data exploration and analysis to modelling, experimentation, production implementation, monitoring, and communication with stakeholders.
  • Experience transforming vague problems into algorithmic solutions
  • Desire to drive meaningful business impact and a bias to action. You like to move quickly, you follow through, and you’re accountable for the results.
  • Owner’s mindset. No task is too big or too small, and you always improve things than when you first found them.
  • An innate curiosity and an open mind.
