Role Description

If you have:

• 8+ years of software development experience.
• 3+ years of leading ML infrastructure engineering teams.
• Experience in large-scale data domains: data ingestion, processing, ETL, management, governance, compliance, and tools.
• Familiarity with commercial/open-source storage frameworks and compute platforms (Apache Spark, Apache Flink, Ray).
• Knowledge of analytics databases (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
• Proficiency in data pipeline and workflow management tools.
• Familiarity with ML principles and frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Understanding of model hosting and sharing platforms (Hugging Face, Weights & Biases, model zoos).
• Strong organizational skills for working on large teams.
• A track record of driving product innovations collaboratively.
• A passion for best practices and strategy development.
• A commitment to operational excellence through automation and engineering.
• A solid background in distributed systems and engineering.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Qualifications

Collaborate cross-functionally:

• Partner with AI researchers and infrastructure teams at Apple to shape our roadmap and execute strategic and tactical operations.
• Lead with vision: Develop tools and platforms for handling multi-model large language models.
• Manage teams effectively: Recruit top talent, provide technical leadership, set clear expectations, and foster a positive work environment.
• Ensure product efficiency: Participate in product design reviews to guarantee the secure use of ML infrastructure.
• Establish engineering excellence: Provide guidance and establish processes for operational sustainability.

Education & Experience

BS and a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience.

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is part of our total compensation package and lies within a range. This role offers progression opportunities as you grow and develop. The base pay for this position ranges from $183,400 to $316,900, and will depend on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
