Job Description

We are on the lookout for a Machine Learning Scientist to join our dynamic team on a 6-month fixed term contract. Your role will be pivotal in enhancing ASOS’s shopping experience for our vast customer base. This position involves collaborating closely with the retail, marketing, and technology teams. You will innovate on our exclusive AI platform, addressing complex challenges, enhancing existing solutions, and deploying state-of-the-art technology.

As an integral part of our team, you will leverage our unique data sets—including customer transactions, click-stream data, and extensive product descriptions through images, videos, and text. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and creativity to make a measurable impact across our business operations.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers, business analysts, and non-technical stakeholders to develop new and enhance existing data-driven products.
• Drive the scaling and implementation of algorithms for broad, impactful integration across various business aspects.
• Design and execute large-scale experiments to form and test hypotheses, ultimately influencing product evolution.
• Stay updated with advanced research, participate in learning groups, and have opportunities to publish groundbreaking work.
• Promote and support a diverse and inclusive workplace.

About You

Our ideal candidate will hold an advanced degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field (Ph.D. preferred). You should have proven experience using machine learning techniques on high-dimensional datasets in areas such as image processing, click-stream analysis, or natural language processing. Experience in the retail, marketing, or e-commerce sector, paired with proficiency in Python data science tools (e.g., pandas, NumPy), and familiarity with SQL and Scala is highly desirable. Additionally, a strong grasp of statistical methods and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment are essential.
