What You’ll Do:

• Develop and execute the technical and organizational roadmap for the engineering team
• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of exceptional machine learning engineers
• Influence key architectural and implementation decisions for scalable, reliable, and cost-effective solutions
• Design and optimize cutting-edge deep learning architectures
• Create products used by millions of Snapchatters
• Stay on the cutting edge of machine learning technology and techniques
• Implement machine learning and computer vision solutions impacting millions of users
• Introduce innovations that drive new product features and business areas
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to explore, prototype, and launch new features

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Advanced knowledge of the latest research in machine learning and computer vision
• Strong understanding of mathematics and deep learning foundations
• Proficiency in basic computer vision algorithms
• Solid computer science fundamentals
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to lead and represent the team’s goals with business partners and leaders

Minimum Qualifications:

• BS in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent experience
• 8+ years of experience in machine learning
• 2+ years of experience managing a team with technical leadership
• Experience with generative models such as diffusion models, GANs, VAE, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in a related technical field
• Demonstrated success in leading machine learning projects
• Experience in developing real-time software for mobile applications
• Portfolio showcasing your work: open source projects, blog posts, Kaggle contests, relevant publications, etc.
• Excitement about Snapchat and our products

Compensation:

Our compensation packages are assigned based on work locations, which determine salary ranges:

• Zone A (CA, WA, NYC): Base salary range of $222,000-$333,000 annually
• Zone B: Base salary range of $211,000-$316,000 annually
• Zone C: Base salary range of $189,000-$283,000 annually
