Mechanical Engineer, Data Center Design at Meta

Overview:

Meta is on the lookout for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to enhance our Data Center Design Leadership & Standards (DL&S) Team within the DEC Design pillar. This full-time position focuses on providing both expertise and leadership in mechanical engineering across our global data center platforms, pushing the boundaries of scale and efficiency.

What You'll Do:

Joining the DL&S team means you’ll be in the company of in-house engineers and architects dedicated to refining our Data Center designs for rapid deployment. Responsibilities include:

• Leading the mechanical evaluation and standardization of cutting-edge data center systems.
• Collaborating with internal teams to establish design standards and handling site-specific design challenges, ensuring seamless project management from conception through to completion.
• Engaging with build contractors to guarantee installation quality, and participating in equipment and systems testing globally.
• Traveling as necessary to support design and implementation processes, including occasional international trips.
• Contributing to root cause analyses and supply-chain risk management, while also actively participating in ongoing staff training and development.

Preferred Candidate:

Ideal candidates will have at least ten years of experience in mechanical engineering within Data Center / Mission Critical environments, boasting a portfolio that demonstrates:

• Solid foundational knowledge in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
• Adept at navigating building codes and safety standards such as NFPA, ASHRAE, and LEED.
• Robust cross-disciplinary understanding, especially electrical systems and building management controls.
• Proficiency in design and simulation software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and ACC.
