About This Role

The Airline Master Data team at CAE is actively seeking a Mid Java Software Engineer to help us build the industry's leading data hub. Our Airline Master Data solution facilitates real-time exchange of standardized airline operational data, ensuring data consistency across a variety of airline operations products. The software is engineered as a set of multitenant microservices deployed in Kubernetes, with a NoSQL persistence layer and Kafka messaging.

The Role We Are Offering You

  • Design and develop efficient backend systems
  • Write unit and integration tests
  • Analyze and solve performance bottlenecks
  • Provide and implement ideas for application improvements
  • Share knowledge and mentor junior team members

Our Ideal Candidate Has

  • 3+ years of programming experience (Java ecosystem)
  • Experience in designing and building microservices (SpringBoot)
  • Working knowledge of REST API design and implementation
  • Strong data-driven software development attitude
  • Practical NoSQL knowledge (MongoDB) and RDBMS systems
  • Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns
  • Working knowledge of messaging systems (Apache Kafka)
  • Learning mindset
  • Good command of English

Additionally, It Would Be Great If You Have

  • Practical knowledge of cloud native services and applications (AWS)
  • Working knowledge of Linux OS
  • Experience with code analysis tools such as Sonar and Whitesource
