About the Role

The PayPal Global Analytics and Data Science (GADS) team is on the lookout for an experienced Machine Learning Scientist. This role is pivotal in developing and advancing our ML/AI capabilities, thereby contributing to the growth and innovation of PayPal's products, specifically in the Lending Business.

Key Responsibilities

Your daily impact at PayPal will involve:

• Identifying AI and ML opportunities to devise impactful business solutions.
• Leading ML projects and spearheading research to discover new ML techniques.
• Creating efficiencies and innovations for the team and overall business processes.
• Collaborating with technical teams to implement and optimize ML models, ensuring seamless integration into our products and services.
• Maintaining best practices for ML model management, deployment, and monitoring.

What You Need to Bring

The ideal candidate will hold a degree in engineering, science, statistics, or mathematics and have:

• A solid technical foundation in machine learning.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in problem-solving with ML technologies.
• Proficiency in Python or Java, and familiarity with Spark, Hadoop, BigQuery, SQL, and other relevant technologies.
• A deep understanding of machine learning algorithms, explainable AI methods, and NLP.
• Experience with cloud frameworks like GCP, AWS is advantageous, as is experience in Lending and Financial services.
