Job expired!

Prima is an Italian technology company that has been revolutionising the insurance industry since its launch in 2015, achieving an investment of 170 million euros since 2018, the largest in Italian technology history. Now Prima has more than 2.5 million active customers and, after 8 years of continuous growth, continues to head towards its international expansion, establishing itself in the United Kingdom and Spain, with its sights already set on other European markets.

Our mission is to be the best insurance provider in Europe, and our advanced analytical capabilities applied to pricing are our most powerful weapon to achieve it: decisions about pricing directly impact the growth and sustainability of the business and ensure protection to our customers in adverse situations. To always be one step ahead of a market that is also rich in data and information, we must be dynamic, creative and accurate. That is why we are looking for capable and motivated professionals for our team of Data Scientists.

Specifically, you will be in charge of these activities:

  • Analyzing any type of data source with the aim of creating and improving the predictive technology patented by Prima, analyses such as:
    - Classification models for variable improvement
    - Creation of Loss Cost prediction models
    - Price elasticity of demand
    - Probability of renewal
    - Portfolio value optimization
  • Implementing the pricing engine, by creating new predictors and improving models and predictive technology.
  • Measuring the impact of implemented projects and identifying areas for improvement as soon as possible.
  • Monitoring KPIs, detecting problems or areas for improvement.
  • Streamlining internal procedures, thanks to automatic customer selection systems, document classification and fraud detection.

Requirements

Studies show that some people are less likely to apply for a job unless they meet all the requirements. At Prima we are committed to the inclusiveness of our teams, so apply even if your experience doesn't perfectly fit the requirements. You might still be the one!

  • Business and analytical background. We are looking for people deeply involved in the business, who not only want to be part of the technical side of the role, but also have a strategic vision in the team, as well as showing a clear inclination towards data analysis. You can provide solutions to business problems through estimation and prediction techniques, enriching variables through the application of classification algorithms, and their subsequent system implementation.
  • Logical and analytical skills. You quickly master complex topics, no matter the field.
  • You have knowledge and/or experience in programming in Python and you know the main libraries for data analysis and machine learning (Pandas, Numpy, Scipy, XGBoost, etc.).
  • Critical and curious mindset. You look at the world around you and you're constantly asking "why?". You think of how to improve things and look for your ideas to come true.
  • You have at least an intermediate level of English. Prima is increasingly international and we seek to collaborate with other teams, hence the common language we use is English.

In addition to basic requirements, we will carefully evaluate these characteristics:

  • You have previous work experience in similar roles, with a basis in statistics, programming and implementing algorithms.
  • You can create datasets using data extraction languages (such as MySQL or Redshift).
  • You can analyze and create models in Excel.

Benefits

What we offer:

  • Competitive salary aligned with your experience
  • State-of-the-art devices and tools
  • Events dedicated to team building
  • Innovative, informal and friendly environment, with a passionate and talented team
  • The opportunity to work in a scale-up where your work and results are essential for the business success
