Position: Principal Data Architect

We are seeking a skilled Sr. Data Architect to join our team. This role focuses on discovering, designing, and implementing software solutions that address real-time customer data delivery challenges in a petabyte-scale environment. As a senior member of our core architecture team, you will work across product boundaries and play a crucial role in architectural decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with architects, software engineers, operations engineers, and product managers.
  • Evaluate current architectures for cost, maintainability, and scalability inefficiencies.
  • Propose and drive architectural design decisions.
  • Stay updated with server-side and cloud-based trends and architectures.
  • Provide architectural guidance across development, operational, and feature delivery teams.
  • Create and maintain system architecture diagrams.
  • Own architectural domain knowledge.
  • Participate in Agile/SCRUM processes and support short, iterative delivery cycles.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of software architecture experience.
  • Experience with Apache Spark solutions for high-traffic pipelines.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL and ETL processes.
  • Strong understanding of ML/data-intensive architectures, stream and batch processing.
  • Experience with NoSQL and relational data stores (e.g., DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, RedshiftDB, Clickhouse).
  • Knowledge of distributed messaging and streaming technologies (e.g., Amazon SQS, Kinesis, Apache Kafka).
  • Extensive experience deploying software in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Understanding of microservices architectures, distributed systems, and CI/CD.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to various stakeholders effectively.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects with competing priorities.

Wage Transparency

Tealium believes in transparency. Although not all U.S. states require it, we provide pay ranges to all applicants. The base pay for this full-time position is $180,000 - $210,000, depending on your knowledge, skills, and experience. Additionally, you'll receive a competitive benefits package, including:
