Job Responsibilities
As a Principal Data Architect, you will:
- Champion Data Architecture: Advocate for the role of data and information architecture within the Group and Enterprise, effectively communicating its value to stakeholders up to the director level.
- Define Standards: Drive the definition and adoption of architectural standards, patterns, policies, and data governance processes.
- Establish Controls: Design and embed repeatable and auditable controls in line with the new Data Architecture standard.
- Translate Requirements: Convert business requirements into conceptual and logical data models, ensuring adherence to data architecture standards.
- Collaborate: Work closely with senior management and other Principal Architects to define IT strategy and provide best practice data architecture guidance.
- Align Solutions: Collaborate across IT disciplines to align data solutions, reduce risk, and deliver shareholder value.
- Support Commitments: Ensure all delivered work supports L&G’s Consumer Duty Commitments for exceptional service delivery.
Qualifications
We're looking for candidates with:
- TOGAF or similar certification (desirable).
- A related degree or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in data management concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Knowledge in data governance, data modeling, and data warehousing.
- Experience in data architecture across large projects.
- A strong background working with development teams and regulatory bodies.
- Experience in both waterfall and agile delivery paradigms.
- Excellent communication skills for building successful working relationships.
- Previous experience as a Principal Architect, especially in mentoring junior team members.
