As a Principal Data Architect, your responsibilities will encompass:
Leverage your understanding of functional business domains, data categories, database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL), and data quality metrics. You will define and identify the most suitable data sources, perform initial quality checks, and guide junior associates.
Utilize your expertise in data ecosystems, transactional database systems, data warehouses, and cloud services. Diagnose and troubleshoot information architecture connections, design data schemes, and ensure database integrity and security.
Develop complex data models across various platforms, provide guidance on physical data models, and maintain critical data documentation. Ensure data modeling standards and best practices are adhered to and support architectural design.
Translate business requirements into strategies and projects. Evaluate proposed business cases, mentor team members, and engage with the external community to enhance Walmart's brand.
Analyze business problems, recommend effective solutions, and set deliverables based on success criteria. Quantify business impact and drive technology-focused solutions.
Establish and document data governance strategies, provide guidance on implementation, and educate others on data management accountability. Stay updated on regulatory changes to ensure compliance.
Apply data strategy principles to complex business problems, leverage insights to influence data strategy, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
Design and implement data quality management procedures, monitor performance, and lead data quality initiatives. Provide recommendations for data governance policies and user access management.
Drive multiple business plans by identifying needs, communicating priorities, and providing resources. Supervise and develop associates by mentoring, building team environments, and establishing performance expectations. Uphold company policies and promote an ethical work environment. Ensure ongoing effectiveness of initiatives and support community outreach events.

The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00-$286,000.00 plus annual or quarterly performance bonuses and stock compensation.
Minimum Qualifications: Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 5 years' experience in data engineering, solution architecture, or related field. Option 2: 7 years' experience in data engineering or related field. Option 3: Master's degree
