As a key member of Nielsen's Campaign Analytics Data Science team, you will take on challenges that matter, answering pivotal questions about marketing efficacy and the impact of advertising.
The role of Principal Data Scientist within our Data Science organization is crucial. We seek a professional who excels in leading the development of analytical solutions, specializing in mathematical modeling, statistical methods, and machine learning processes. You'll work in a dynamic, agile environment, collaborating closely with software engineers to innovate and refine solutions that drive our clients' success in marketing and advertising.
Key Responsibilities:
- Employ and adjust various statistical and econometric models to prototype marketing effectiveness solutions.
- Lead the research, design, and implementation of analytical and mathematical methods to develop cutting-edge web-based analytical platforms.
- Write, test, and refine modules for Nielsen analytics platforms using tools such as Python, R, SQL, Spark, and AWS products.
- Work with advanced computational and statistics libraries including Spark MLlib, Scikit-learn, SciPy, and StatsModels.
- Document methodologies and present findings both internally and externally.
- Guide and prioritize projects for smaller teams and mentor newly hired associates.
Requirements:
- Advanced degree (PhD or Master’s) in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of experience in Statistical Analysis and/or Data Science.
- Deep expertise in Bayesian and Frequentist statistics, econometric models, and supervised learning models.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Spark, SQL, or other modern languages, with proficiency in using major machine learning libraries and techniques.
- Experience in writing production-grade code with scientific computing packages (e.g., NumPy, SciPy, Scikit-learn).
- Familiarity with code management tools, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines; experience with NumPyro is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Exceptional communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail and a passion for technology.
- Agility in adopting short-release life-cycle processes, including Scrum and other agile methodologies.
