As a Principal Data Scientist on the Modeling team, you'll work under the Risk function, alongside a talented team in pricing, risk analytics, and decision engines. You will also collaborate closely with the Cyber Research, Insurance and Tech Product, Claims, and Underwriting teams. Our team at At-Bay has defined our aggregation view, developed an aggregation risk model, and supported reinsurance and finance to drive profitable growth. We are seeking a key team member to unlock new possibilities in attritional modeling, enhancing our segmentation and underwriting strategy. In this exciting role, you will pioneer new methodologies in the attritional side of the risk domain and play a crucial part in shaping At-Bay's risk model.

Role Overview

Your work will directly contribute to At-Bay's risk assessment framework, aiding in data-driven decisions involving millions of dollars of exposure. This multidisciplinary role includes the development of deep knowledge at the intersection of cyber security and insurance, business acumen, research, and analytical skills. As a hands-on technical role, you will lead and manage projects, conducting end-to-end data analysis and modeling.

At-Bay is uniquely positioned with its own cyber security and cyber insurance data, including claims. You will be responsible for developing an end-to-end data analytics platform. This platform will lead data analytics and research projects on all available data connecting cyber security and cyber insurance. You will provide insights from data to cross-functional stakeholders, including but not limited to Risk, Insurance & Tech Product, Underwriting, and Claims teams.

How You'll Make an Impact

By 3 Months...

• Understand At-Bay’s internal data structure/platform and develop key relationships across the business
• Identify areas of improvement in current data structure/platform and internal/external data sources
• Design the data platform and process for rapid prototyping predictive models connecting internal and external data to cyber incidents

By 6 Months...

• Develop data platform for rapid prototyping
• Apply Gen AI to extract useful information from existing data sources
• Share data and insights with our risk analytics and pricing team to inform our segmentation and underwriting strategy
• Initiate new data projects, perform data analysis, and provide insights to the Risk team as well as Cyber research, Security, and Data Science teams

What You’ve Accomplished Already

• Led data science projects from start to finish, collaborating and communicating cross-functionally to ensure success
• Designed and developed data pipelines to support various data analytics
• Applied Gen AI to extract insights from unstructured data and utilized data science techniques such as Clustering, Anomaly detection, Time series analysis, and Machine Learning models
• Achieved a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
• Proficient with Excel and SQL, and experienced with Python and/or R
