About the Role: Principal Engineer, Digital Design Engineering

Join a high-performing team designing the next generation of automotive BMS chips, featuring low power radio transceivers, advanced battery monitoring technology, embedded microcontrollers, and other differentiated analog and digital components. Experience working within our Automotive Electrification & Sustainable Energy Business Unit, developing sophisticated system-on-chip (SoC) integrated circuits for cutting-edge wireless applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architecture and Matlab modeling of Radio Subsystems for complex SoC chips
  • Microarchitecture and Verilog RTL implementation
  • Collaboration with design verification teams on test-plan development and coverage closure
  • Coordination with Physical Design teams on floor planning and timing closure
  • Silicon bring-up, functional verification, and performance validation

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with 11+ years of digital design experience, or Bachelor's degree with 13+ years of experience
  • Strong fundamentals in digital communication theory and digital architecture implementation
  • Experience in digital radio architecture, design, and implementation
  • Proficiency in Matlab, Verilog RTL coding, and C
  • Experience in digital design flows including microarchitecture, RTL design, verification, synthesis, and timing closure
  • Knowledge of low power design techniques
  • Experience reviewing signal processing literature and applying novel concepts to digital implementations
  • Familiarity with ARM microcontroller architectures and interfaces such as SPI and UART is a plus
  • Knowledge of Python and System Verilog UVM is a plus
  • Understanding of Machine Learning in signal processing algorithms within a transceiver setting is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent written and verbal communication abilities
