Minimum Qualifications:

- A minimum of 15 years' experience in software development, OR 10 years' experience plus an advanced degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Engineering.
- Proven expertise in hardware and software design, data structures and algorithms, and debugging.
- Demonstrable experience with customer-facing products.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- Dynamic ability to work cross-functionally with teams like Sales, Engineering, Product Management, Product Marketing, UX, and UI.
- Exceptional narrative and storytelling skills to drive usage, adoption, and market momentum.

About the Role:

As a Principal Engineer for the Google Cloud Machine Learning Compute Services, you'll lead the technical strategy for our ML services powered by GPUs and TPUs. Your role will involve providing technical leadership to shape the future of AI/ML applications in the cloud, managing large scale training, and inference projects on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and enhancing integration with other GCP services like Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and Vertex AI.

What We Offer:

For eligible US candidates, we provide a competitive salary range of $278,000 to $399,000, plus bonuses, equity, and comprehensive benefits. Salary is dependent on location and experience and is designed to align with your qualifications and the role's demands.

Responsibilities:

- Craft and implement a strategic vision for innovating GCP's infrastructure services particularly in ML and High-Performance Computing (HPC).
- Design, build, and deploy scalable solutions using GPUs, TPUs, and advanced software infrastructure.
- Manage scalable systems to anticipate and surpass market demands.
- Strategize exceptional scheduling and resource management to optimize GCP's offerings.
- Set benchmarks and standards for engineering practices.
