The School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering (MAE) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) is excited to offer a unique opportunity for a highly skilled individual in the role of Project Officer. This position focuses on the groundbreaking development of insect-computer hybrid robots, blending advanced technology with biological systems.

Key Responsibilities

As a Project Officer, you will:

  • Design and develop control/navigation algorithms and operation strategies for insect-computer hybrid robots.
  • Integrate these algorithms into customized sensor-backpack controllers and rigorously test them with living insects.
  • Lead and coordinate the research team to ensure the successful testing, optimization, and execution of the designed operation strategies.
  • Handle the technical documentation and presentations related to the project.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, Electrical and Electronics, Computer Engineering, or Biological Engineering.
  • At least 2 years of experience in C/C++ programming for embedded systems.
  • Prior knowledge of insect anatomy and physiology will be viewed favorably.
  • Experience in control system design is an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in C#, Java, JavaScript, Python is beneficial.
  • Ability to comfortably handle living insects.
  • Strong team player with a knack for problem-solving.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. absl>
