Join GSK as a Real-World Analytics (RWA) Scientist

GSK, a global biopharma leader, is searching for a Real-World Analytics (RWA) Scientist. As an RWA Scientist, you will harness your data and methodological expertise to create study and protocol designs and statistical analysis plans (SAPs) for complex health data sets, including real-world data (RWD). Collaborate with experts in our Epidemiology organization and matrix teams to convert evidence needs into comprehensive study programs that support the accessibility and efficacy of GSK medicines.

Your Responsibilities

Design and Analysis

As our RWA Scientist, you will:

  • Manage individual studies to deliver quality work within agreed timelines.
  • Provide real-world data (RWD) and methodological insights to teams for effective study planning and delivery.
  • Critically review protocol methods, design, analytics, and sample/size elements during development.
  • Author specifications for analytic data sets and ensure their proper interpretation and implementation with a team of programmers.
  • Perform hands-on programming to manipulate and analyze complex health data sets and conduct statistical analyses.
  • Review results for accuracy and completeness, ensuring design assumptions and data knowledge are considered.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project delivery documentation for studies in line with SOPs.
  • Conduct quality control (QC) of colleagues' work products.

Communication of Results

Your role will also involve:

  • Contributing to the oral and written communication of analytic and study results.
  • Co-authoring scientific publications with statistical and methodological expertise.

Therapeutic Area Knowledge

Gain a solid understanding of basic therapeutic area (TA) strategies to apply appropriate tools and data sources.

Leadership and Teamwork

Collaborate effectively to ensure high-quality, timely delivery of work products. Stay current with methods for utilizing complex health datasets and apply innovative approaches to solve critical problems. Merge scientific thinking with business knowledge to identify issues, evaluate options, and implement solutions. Proactively influence team members on research and statistical directions and manage analysis timelines, escalating issues appropriately.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

We seek professionals with the following required skills:

  • PhD or MS in a quantitative discipline such as epidemiology, health economics, health services research, health informatics, or biostatistics.
  • 1+ year experience with RWD in pharmacoepidemiology or health outcomes research.
  • Experience using statistical/analytic software (e.g., SAS, R, SQL, IHD).
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.

Preferred Qualifications

Additional desirable qualities include:

  • PhD degree or Masters + 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Background in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, focusing on real-world evidence, epidemiology, or health outcomes.
  • Understanding of drug development processes and strategies.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Self-reliant and capable of delivering high-quality analytics independently.
  • Strong collaboration skills across various projects and requests.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary for this role ranges from $114,028 to $154,273, considering multiple factors such as work location, candidate’s skills, experience, and education.
