Research Fellow Opportunity at Nanyang Technological University

Join the School of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and contribute to groundbreaking research as a Research Fellow (Postdoctoral Researcher) in the dynamic field of process systems engineering. We are looking for passionate individuals interested in state estimation, advanced process control, remaining useful life prediction, fault detection and diagnosis, and optimization solutions for industrial manufacturing processes through the use of control theory, data analytics, machine learning, optimization, graph theory, information theory, among others.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

• Conduct high-quality research on data-based/model-based process monitoring and process control for complex chemical and biomolecular systems.
• Apply theoretical findings through computer simulations and experimental validation.
• Publish results in leading journals and conferences in related fields.
• Assist the Principal Investigator (PI) in supervising PhD students.
• Attend international conferences to present research findings.

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate should have:

• Obtained a PhD degree (or will shortly be awarded a PhD) in Process Control, Control Science and Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Machine Learning, or related fields.
• An excellent track record of research in the corresponding fields.
• Extensive experience and advanced mathematical skills in control engineering, statistics, optimization, and/or machine learning.
• Excellent programming skills in Python, Matlab, Julia, or other relevant languages.
• Good written and communication skills.
• Expertise in state estimation, hybrid system control, network-based control, fault diagnosis, and/or model predictive control, with experience applying machine learning in control systems being an asset.
