What You’ll Do

Position Title: SAP iXp Intern - AI/ML Data Scientist

Location: Vancouver, BC

Expected Start Date: July 2024

Contract Duration: 12 months

Work Hours: 40 hours per week

The Plutus team is seeking an AI/ML Data Scientist Engineer Intern to enhance our training recommendation models for each hyperscaler. In this role, the intern will focus on improving recommendation accuracy and optimizing cloud costs. Using advanced AI and machine learning techniques, you will analyze data to refine our recommendation algorithms, aligning them with the unique needs of different hyperscalers. This is an exciting opportunity to delve into cutting-edge technologies, optimize cloud infrastructure, and drive innovation within our team.

Position Requirements:

• Design, develop, and deploy accurate forecasting models to capture and predict trends, patterns, and anomalies in business data.
• Conduct feature engineering to extract relevant features that enhance model accuracy.
• Train and fine-tune models using machine learning techniques such as regression, time series analysis, and deep learning.
• Evaluate model performance using appropriate metrics and iterate to improve accuracy and robustness.
• Understanding of software applications, lifecycle, and development methodologies (Agile/Scrum).
• Experience with development tools like Git and JIRA.
• Flexibility to work with a global team across different time zones.
• Clear and concise communication, both verbal and written.
• Strong desire to interact with and learn from senior team members.

Nice to Have:

• Familiarity with hyperscalers such as AWS, Azure, GCP, and a basic understanding of cloud cost management.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with ML frameworks.
• Understanding of statistical modeling techniques, time series analysis, and forecasting methodologies.
• Experience in cleaning, preprocessing, and transforming business data.
• Experience in SAP BTP Cloud Foundry environment and BTP services.
• Ability to work in an agile environment using Scrum methodology.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with proficiency in English.

Educational Requirements:

Currently studying or recently completed an undergraduate or graduate program in Data Science, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Statistics, Information Technology/Information Systems.
